John Edward McInerney (born 7 September 1957)[1] is a British-German singer, songwriter, and the frontman of German band Bad Boys Blue. He is the only band member from the original line-up of the group still performing.
Early years
[edit]John McInerney was born in Liverpool, England in 1957. He was interested in music since his childhood and once even appeared on British television performing "She Loves You" by the Beatles.[2] McInerney's mother Agnes died when he was four and a half years old, leaving him and his younger brother to be brought up by their grandmother. When he was 15 years old, he played in the junior team of a local football club. Having graduated from school, McInerney worked as a stockbroker, and in 1979 he decided to move to Germany.

Bad Boys Blue was formed in the summer of 1984 bygd German producer Tony Hendrik and his lyricist wife Karin Van Harren. Hendrik was looking to create an alternative to the hugely successful German group Modern Talking. Ironically, Dieter Bohlen, mastermind and song writer of Modern Talking, is often incorrectly credited with developing their signature sound and being their producer.
The original trio comprised of American Andrew Thomas, British John McInerney, and Jamaican Trevor Taylor - the original lead vocalist. The debut single L.O.V.E In My Car failed to man an impression in the pop charts but the follow-up You're A Woman was a massive success, reaching the top 10 in many European countries.
Trevor Taylor provided the lead vocal for the group's early hit singles including You're A Woman and Pretty ung Girl. The 1987 single Come Back And Stay was the first to feature John McInerney on lead vocal. Although the track was originally recorded as demo with Trevor

Bad Boys Blue is a living legend of pop dance music. The group which was founded in the 80's of
the 20th century, continues to release albums & performs around the world.
The history of Bad Boys Blue started in Cologne, Germany, way back in 1984, when founders
and owners of Coconut Records, Tony Hendrik and Karin van Haaren (A.K.A. Karin Hartmann),
decided to create a new music project. They planned to look for members of brand new group
in England, but eventually they found them in Cologne.
The original line-up of Bad Boys Blue was as following:

The first single of the group called "L.O.V.E. In My Car" was released in the autumn of 1984. It
did very well in the discos and clubs,
