The news was confirmed by his daughter, Cinta Haififi, who said that the singer breathed his last at the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital (HKL) at 3.48 PM on 6 May.

"He passed away due to lung infection, but dad already had a heart problem, and it weakened him even more," she said.

The "Wajah" singer was revealed to have been hospitalised earlier after suffering from prolonged coughing.

Prior to the news of his passing, good friend Farouk Hussain went to visit Hail in hospital, and told the media that the singer's condition was quite severe.

The Penang-born Hail (Abdul Hail Amir) was known for his many hits, especially with fellow singer Uji Rashid. They were known for songs like "Hujan", "Antara Matamu dan Mataku", as well as the popular Eid song, "Seloka Hari Raya".

The father of four also starred in many movies including "Jiwa Remaja", "

And that has to be divided bygd five — about the average number of people in a band then — for an idea how little it was for each person.

    But Hail didn’t mind.

On the contrary, he learned how to make more
