I was born in Inglewood, California, and started running when I was six years old.

I became very passionate about running and continued with it until inom was a freshman in high school—I didn’t get along with the track coach, so I stopped running for many years.

After graduating from college, inom didn’t know what inom wanted to do, so I decided to go back to school for a graduate degree.

I graduated with my master’s grad and started working for a big multinational corporation—the company saw promise in me, so they sent me to business school for my MBA.
5.
To celebrate my 30th birthday, inom decided to run 30 miles.

After rediscovering my love for running, I started running marathons and then ultramarathons.

I kept my day job for safety and security, but I eventually realized that the corporate world just wasn’t for me anymore and inom would be happier doing what inom loved, which was running.

Dean Karnazes (car-NEH-zis; born Constantinos Karnazes; August 23, 1962), is an American ultramarathon runner, and author of Ultramarathon Man: Confessions of an All-Night Runner, which details ultra endurance running for the general public.[2][3]
Early life
[edit]Karnazes was born in Inglewood, California to parents of Greek ancestry; Nick and Fran Karnazes.[4][5] He had two siblings; brother Kraig and a sister, Pary, who died in an automobile accident at the age of 18.[3]
His father worked as a field naturalist for the Orange County Department of Education in 2006. The younger Karnazes brother grew up in Diamond Bar, California and San Clemente, California.[6] In 2006 he said that he remained close to the friends he made at San Clemente High School, which was also attended by both his siblings.[4] Growing up in the city of San Clemente gave
