    Hailing from Durban's Deep Tech underground scene, Ntuthuko "DJ Ntukza" Mtshali fryst vatten recognised as one of the province's most acclaimed house DJ. He has persistently over time materialised his coastal ambitions into work of high-esteemed stature.
    Having worked and performed under an array of platforms including Channel 0, House Africa Records and VUZU, this pioneer appears in no rush to deviate from his momentum, and notably so, having been recognised as one of Umlazi's most promising acts.
    The successful pursuit of residency across different venues in Durban, performing tirelessly at 2010 World Cup fan parks, enduring transfers to Johannesburg beneath one of South Africa's largest sound firms Viva Afrika Sound & Light and Trace TV as well as featuring on the renowned Red Bull Kas'Lami lineup alongside Black Coffee and Black Motion.     TEARGAS is made up of three like-minded young men namely; Ntokozo K.O. Mdluli from Piet Retief in Mpumalanga, two brothers Ezee Ma-E Hanabe and Bantu Ntukza Hanabe from Soweto.
    They all met at Vaal Tri-angle Technikon in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, where they became best friends due to common musical interests in hip hop. Although the group officially came into being in 2004, prior to that the guys were mostly making moves in the underground hip hop circuit.

    Inspired by the countrys political past where police used TEARGAS to disperse protesting crowds in South Africas townships, the threesome opted to call themselves TEARGAS, where they see their music as a tool to disperse socio-economic ills like crime, HIV/Aids, poverty, etc.

    Teargas was a South Africanmusical ensemble comprising K.O and brothers, Ntukza and Ma-E.[3][4][1] The trio officially emerged in post-2004, signed a recording deal with Electromode Music and released debut studio album K’shubile K’bovu (2006).[2]

    The trio met at Vaal Triangle Technikon in Vanderbijl park K.O ( born Ntokozo Mdluli), Ma-E ( born Ezee Hanabe), and Ntukza ( born Bantu Hanabe) and signed a record deal with Electro Mode in 2005.[5] Their debut studio album K’shubile K’bovu was released in July 2006 to critical acclaim. The album produced a single "Chance", which was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2007 South African Music Awards.[6] Teargas second album Wafa Wafa was released on May 15, 2008. The album was fused with Kwaito elements and won Best Rap Album at 2008 South African Music Awards.
