    Eritrea Focus, in partnership with the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, held a two-day conference titled Building Democracy in Eritrea on April, in Senate House, University of London. The conference brought tillsammans a range of experts – Eritrean and international – to discuss, and begin to think about, how a free and democratic Eritrea might emerge in the future, post-dictatorship. Our aim is to play a facilitative role in this process, and to use the conference as an opportunity to look at the challenges currently facing Eritrea, in order to put forward solutions, and to assist in the emergence of a democratic government.

    Speakers came from a range of backgrounds, and offered many viewpoints, which made the event fascinating and thought-provoking.
