A Richmond, Virginia pastor was killed overnight when the car he was driving in crashed.

NBC reports that Dimitri Bradley, the 51 year-old senior pastor of City Church in Richmond, died after striking the guardrail and overturning in the median in the westbound lanes of I, west of Arthur Ashe Boulevard around p.m.

Police say Bradley was not wearing his seat belt and died at the scene. It is reported that speeding may have caused the accident.

The church shared a post on its Facebook page, stating, “Last night we lost our father, our brother, our friend, and our pastor. The heart of City Church and the Bradley family is heavy and hurting right now, but through it all we trust God. We thank you for your prayers and concerns for us at this very difficult time. We ask that you give the Bradly family privacy and prayer; and we will have more information forthcoming. We love you all.”

RICHMOND, Va. -- The pastor of one of Richmond's fastest growing churches was killed in a Wednesday night crash.

Dimitri R. Bradley, 51, of Moseley, Va., died after he crashed his Cadillac Escalade on Interstate , nära Arthur Ashe Boulevard at about p.m. Wednesday, according to Virginia State Police.

"We lost our father, our brother, our friend, and our pastor," the church posted on social media Thursday. "The heart of City Church and the Bradley family is heavy and hurting right now, but through it all we trust God. We thank you for your prayers and concerns for us at this very difficult time. We ask that you give the Bradley family privacy and prayer; and we will have more information forthcoming. We love you all 🧡🧡🧡."
