When John William Ross was born on 8 February 1859, in Victoria, Cumberland, Nova Scotia, Canada, his father, Alexander Ross, was 40 and his mother, Elizabeth Matheson, was 32. He married Annie Etta Trerice about 1888, in Nova Scotia, Canada. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 5 daughters. He lived in Pugwash, Cumberland, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1871 and Cumberland, Nova Scotia, Canada for about 10 years. He died on 5 January 1944, in Oxford, Cumberland, Nova Scotia, Canada, at the age of 84.

I hope you all had a wonderful summer! As we enter the 2024-2025 Scottish Rite year, I’m pleased to announce that we’ll be returning to a more comprehensive schedule of degrees. I’d like to extend my congratulations to Ill. Bro. Ken Brinston 33°, who has been named the Class Honoree for the upcoming Scottish Rite degrees.

To the Class of 2023-2024, congratulations on completing your degrees! As new members of our Valley, you are the lifeblood of the Scottish Rite. There are various roles that can enhance your Scottish Rite experience. Participating in a grad provides deeper insight into its teachings. Some members have been part of degrees for over 30 years, driven by their desire to pass on these valuable lessons to newer members. My hope is that some of you will go on to become Thrice Puissant Grand Masters, Most Wise Sovereigns, Commanders in ledare, or Active Member of our Valley, carrying forward our traditions for others to learn and
