Mickey Rooney had talent to burn, and he burned it. He lived a long and often messy life, going up and down the ladder of success as if it were a department store elevator. He did everything there was to do in show business: vaudeville, radio, nightclubs, theater, television, and of course movies, where he ranked at the top of the box office in , , and He could perform both comedy and drama equally well, and he did impressions of everyone from Franklin Delano Roosevelt to Carmen Miranda. He sang, he danced. He played the piano, the drums, and the banjo, and he composed music. He also wrote books, taught acting, spearheaded various business ventures, and served his country during World War II, earning the Bronze Star for performing in combat zones.

Having finally put down this recent release encompassing much of Mickeys private and professional life Im tempted to throw a few subtitles out there for its eventual release in soft cover.
How about.. The proper way to repeatedly lose untold millions over 90 plus years.
The Mick is one of those actors that up until his recent death is a personality that has always been there in my life. Id see him on afternoon television when I was a kid in black and white features from the thirties that Mom might be watching like the Andy Hardy flicks or Boys Town. Shed try to get me watching the color extravaganzas with Judy Garland as the two moved to the music, singing and dancing. No thanks, Mom. How about a western.
I know for a fact the family went off to see Petes Dragon at the theater and sure enough there he was again in the late 70s. Late night TV
